Overview

Specialist Fire Suppression Solutions

Not every environment can be protected by a standard sprinkler system. We design and install specialist fire suppression solutions for high-risk, sensitive and technically complex environments where tailored approaches are essential.

From gas suppression and water mist to foam systems and bespoke configurations, we work closely with clients, fire engineers and consultants to deliver the right solution for each unique application.

Specialist Systems

Specialist Suppression Systems

Advanced fire suppression technologies for environments where standard sprinkler systems are not suitable or sufficient.

01
Gas Suppression SystemsClean Agent
Waterless fire suppression using inert or chemical agents for environments where water-based systems are not viable.

Gas suppression systems extinguish fire by rapidly reducing oxygen levels or interrupting the chemical reaction of combustion, without leaving residue or causing secondary damage. Common agents include FM-200, Novec 1230 and inert gas blends.

Ideal for server rooms, control rooms, switchgear enclosures and archive storage, these systems provide fast, clean suppression that protects both the environment and the critical assets within it.

02
Water Mist SystemsLow Water Use
High-pressure water mist technology delivering effective suppression with significantly reduced water usage and damage.

Water mist systems discharge fine water droplets at high pressure, creating a mist that cools the fire, displaces oxygen and blocks radiant heat. The reduced water volume means less structural water damage and faster recovery after discharge.

These systems are well suited to heritage buildings, hotels, residential towers and marine environments where minimising water damage is as important as effective fire suppression.

03
Foam Suppression SystemsFlammable Liquids
Foam-based suppression engineered for environments storing or handling flammable liquids and fuels.

Foam systems work by forming a blanket over the surface of burning liquids, cutting off the oxygen supply and suppressing flammable vapours. They are available in low, medium and high expansion configurations depending on the hazard profile.

Commonly installed in fuel storage depots, refineries, aircraft hangars and loading facilities, foam systems are a proven solution for Class B fire risks where water alone would be ineffective.

04
Pre-Action SystemsDual Trigger
Specialist systems designed to reduce the risk of accidental discharge in sensitive or critical environments.

Pre-action systems require two independent triggers before water is released - typically a fire detection signal and the activation of a sprinkler head. This dual-action approach virtually eliminates the risk of accidental water damage.

These systems are widely used in data centres, server rooms, museums, archives and telecommunications facilities where unintended water discharge could cause significant damage to sensitive equipment or irreplaceable assets.

05
Deluge SystemsHigh Risk
High-capacity fire protection systems for high-risk industrial and specialist environments.

Unlike standard sprinkler systems, deluge systems use open sprinkler heads connected to a valve that releases water simultaneously across the entire protected area. This delivers rapid, high-volume suppression where fire can spread quickly.

Typically installed in power stations, chemical storage facilities, aircraft hangars and transformer rooms, deluge systems are engineered for environments where the consequences of fire are severe and immediate response is critical.

06
Bespoke & Hybrid ConfigurationsCustom
Custom-designed suppression solutions combining multiple technologies for complex or unusual environments.

Some environments require a combination of suppression technologies or a completely bespoke approach to address unique hazard profiles, operational constraints or regulatory requirements that standard systems cannot meet.

We work with fire engineers and consultants to develop hybrid configurations that integrate multiple suppression methods into a single, coordinated system tailored to the specific demands of the project.

FAQ

Common Questions About Specialist Solutions

Answers to frequently asked questions about our specialist fire suppression systems and services.

Ask a Question
Specialist requirements typically involve environments where standard sprinkler systems are not suitable - for example, data centres, heritage buildings, facilities handling flammable liquids, or spaces where water damage from a traditional system would be unacceptable.
We install gas suppression systems (FM-200, Novec 1230, inert gas), water mist systems, foam suppression systems, pre-action systems, deluge systems and bespoke hybrid configurations.
We carry out a detailed hazard and risk assessment to understand the specific fire risks, environmental conditions, operational constraints and compliance requirements before recommending the most appropriate suppression technology.
Yes. We plan and coordinate installations to minimise disruption to building operations. Many specialist systems, particularly gas suppression and water mist, can be installed with relatively low impact on day-to-day activities.
Yes. We provide ongoing servicing and maintenance for all specialist systems we install, including gas agent integrity testing, system inspections and compliance documentation.
Yes. We regularly collaborate with fire engineers, consultants and wider project teams to develop technically coordinated suppression solutions for complex or demanding environments.
